Libertarian Party Member Elected to Tulsa City Council

Libertarian Party member Grant Miller has been elected to the Tulsa, Oklahoma city council. He defeated an incumbent, Mykey Arthrell. However the race was close, and a small number of voters were erroneously denied a ballot that contained that race, so Arthrell plans to appeal the decision. See this story.

  1. I wonder why the voters were denied a ballot. The articles and officials do not explain that action.

  2. The municipal ballot would have been separate from the regular general election ballot with state and federal offices. Sometimes there are split precincts that fall partly in and partly out of a particular jurisdiction such as a municipality. That’s not the case here but if the poll-workers had dealt with that in a previous election it’s possible to get confused.
