Constitution Party is Petitioning for 2024 in Two States — 10 Comments

  1. It may be theocratic, but it was the only party to come out in opposition to the vax and mask mandates. The LP (at least on the national level) was pretty much silent on that assault on our liberty.

  2. The national LP with clowns like JBH Bilyeu and Longstreth were absolutely pathetic and authoritatian. One of the many reasons I couldn’t vote for Jorgensen.

  3. Good thing they are getting better as is GOP. The left meanwhile is becoming even more obviously satanic and communist. End days are here, keep your guns ammo and Bibles close!!!

  4. The GOP sucks. They are essentially the right-wing version of the Democratic party. The biggest thing they have in common is that they do not support political competition. The Democrats will do anything to screw over the third-party left and the Republicans will do the same thing over the third party right. I don’t care what people call third parties, it doesn’t change the fact that without them, many voters would stay home as there will be nothing to fight for.

  5. Well Eric, many voters are not really happy with Trump at all. The amount of toxicity that is expressed by the MAGA right is the same as the people who are on the Woke left. The toxicity goes as far as punishing people just for not having the same views on small issues. He and Joe Biden are the most disapproved presidents in recent American history partially because they fail to address the issues that are most important to every day working people. The time is mostly spent fighting on air in order to make themselves look good. The number of registered GOP voters in North Carolina has flat lined over the past few years while the total number of third party and independent voters have grown. How can the GOP say that the party has gotten better when so many people believe that things are getting so much worse? The only silver lining for the GOP in NC is that the Dems suck even worse in the state.

  6. James, I don’t believe you are correct. Trump supporters support freedom of speech online and in public fora; it is the woke left which supports censorship. Your polls are biased and leftist, so they can be dismissed when it comes to TRUMP, but it’s saying a lot that even the biased leftist polls show Biden is very unpopular, and increasingly so.

The number of registered Republicans flatlined for a couple of reasons. One is that the number of conservatives who used to register as Democrats for historical reasons that had nothing to do with today’s Democrat party has dwindled to essentially nothing, while the national trend in your country has been towards independent registration. This doesn’t mean that people necessarily dislike MAGA, it’s more that they don’t see the point of registering with a political party. They identify Republican registration not with Trump but with people like McConnell and his local equivalents. They prefer to think of themselves as independent, even while identifying with or strongly preferring MAGA.

As far as minor parties go, their registration is going up because they were only recently recognized as parties in your state, or were recognized previously, failed to meet a threshold, and had to start over on registration. I’m not even sure if it’s true that their national registration is increasing, but if it is, I’d say that it’s due to the same sort of thing as the rise of microbrewers and smaller news networks. However, there is no discernible trend of increased votes or election wins for minor parties, at least at your national level. The registration trend only extends to cost free self-identification. An additional factor could be the availability of more registration options over time in more states; the proprietor or others here may be better at answering whether that is in fact the trend.

  7. How in the world are the polls biased and leftist if people know that both parties and their probable presidential candidates are disapproved? Also, I don’t think that the former conservative democrats are necessarily for MAGA, but rather more along the lines of regular conservatives. Jan 6th also did not help with voter registration, but luckily for the GOP that happened on an off-year election. But that doesn’t explain why the GOP hasn’t increased in overall registration.

Furthermore, the amount of registered unaffiliated voters has been increasing for a long time. Unaffiliated Voters surpassed the GOP in terms of registered voters in 2017 and eventually surpassed the Dems in 2022. I have yet to see the freedom that was promised by MAGA. Even though the Constitution Party has never been in office, their consistent fighting to be on the ballot and victories in courts for BS lawsuits by both major parties show that they actually care about the Constitution and their values despite our disagreements. The GOP and the Dems have made me lose hope, but third parties such as the Constitution party and the Greens have brought that hope back to me.

Ballot access for third parties is already tough as the state legislature has always made it tough for third parties to even have a chance. But unaffiliated voters have an even tough battler to climb not only because of petition requirements, but the amount of valid signatures required in races like the U.S. Senate is much higher than third parties. I do hope that what you said about more registration options becomes true so we can have some hope.

  8. Their biased and leftist because of who does them and how they do them. A lot of Trump supporters also don’t talk to these people because we don’t trust them. And yes a lot of us are former dems.
