COFOE (Coalition for Free & Open Elections) Contributes $1,500 to Costs of Printing New York Ballot Access Briefs

The New York Libertarian and Green Parties are in the process of preparing a cert petition in their ballot access case. COFOE has contributed $1,500 toward the printing costs. COFOE gets all its income from readers of Ballot Access News, print edition. Your support is greatly appreciated.

  1. Libertarian Party of New York v New York State Board of Elections. The case challenges the 2020 ballot access changes. The U.S. District Court ruled in favor of the state one day after the hearing, and granted summary judgment, which meant that no trial was even held. Then the 2nd circuit issued a one-sentence “opinion” saying the U.S. District Court had not committed any error.

  2. SHORTER AND SHORTER JUNK OPS ABOUT UNEQUAL BALLOT ACCESS LAWS.

    LOWER COURT – DISMISSED.

    HIGHER COURT – AFFIRMED.

    PLUS SANCTIONS ON MINOR PARTY LAWYERS – DISBAR / COSTS / ETC.
