Rhode Island Bill to Move Primary from September to August is Defeated

On March 8, the Rhode Island House State Government & Elections Committee defeated HB 5721. It would have moved the non-presidential primary from September to August. It would also have the petition deadline for non-presidential independent candidates, and the nominees of unqualified parties, from July to June.
