Filing Closes for Nevada Presidential Primaries

Filing has closed for the Nevada presidential primaries. Only the Democratic and Republican Parties have presidential primaries in Nevada.

There are thirteen Democrats and seven Republicans. Here is the list.

The seven Republicans are John A. Castro, Heath Fulkerson, Nikki Haley, Donald Kjornes, Mike Pence, Tim Scott, and Hirsh Singh. Many prominent Republicans who are seeking the Republican nomination did not file for the Nevada Republican primary. This is because the primary does not actually choose any delegates. Furthermore, Nevada Republican Party rules say that anyone who files in the Republican presidential primary is not eligible to compete in the Nevada Republican caucus, which does elect delegates.

The primaries are on February 6; the Republican caucus is February 8. It seems likely that a great proportion of the Republican presidential primary voters will vote for “None of the Above”, because write-ins are not allowed and Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, and other high-profile names will be missing from the Republican primary ballot.

  1. Ballot access in presidential primaries is quite easy, so they don’t need any help.

  2. Interesting that Haley, Scott and want to be disqualified for delegates. Probably because they know they have no chance of getting any.

  3. I wish we could all forget Mike Pence. What a disappointment he turned out to be. He’s got some nerve though, showing back up in the GOP primary after betraying our country on J6.

  4. There are zero reasons to be abolish the EC. Which has nothing to do with delegates anyway. Troll moron crAZy is clueless and probably in preschool.
