It was difficult to see a path to reelection victory for Manchin, who is 76 years of age. Current West Virginia Governor Jim Justice, a Republican, is considered the odds-on favorite to win next year’s US Senate election.
The tenor of Sen. Manchin’s remarks will fuel speculation that he might team up with former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan or former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman as part of the No Labels presidential ticket.
When Mr. Manchin was Governor of West Virginia, I personally lobbied the state legislature to reduce ballot access barriers in The Mountaineer State. Gov. Manchin said he would sign such legislation if it made it through the West Virginia House and Senate. It did, and he kept his word by signing the legislation. For that, I thank him.

Sen Manchin is 76 years old? If No Labels were to nominate, they could not use the age issue against Trump and Biden.
Of course, Sen Manchin’s connection to the coal mining industry would make him very unpopular in many states, including California, where I live.
He knows he would get creamed in the Senate election. He barely won last time.

Washington – Former President Donald Trump’s longtime ally Steve Bannon on Thursday appealed his criminal conviction for defying a subpoena from the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
Bannon’s attorney argued he didn’t ignore the subpoena, but was trying to avoid running afoul of executive privilege objections Trump had raised.

Four parties are “recognized” in West Virginia. To get on a presidential primary requires a $2500 filing fee. Running outside these parties requires approximately 8,000 signatures as well. It was increased after 2000 but lowered back down after 2008.
He’s going to run for president and help Trump win in a historically massive landslide. Thank God for Manchin, thank God for Trump, and thank God for the Electoral College!
