To be fair, this ruling did not touch upon a much more fundamental problem with voting in Georgia: Dominion touch-screen voting machines do not provide a paper trail, making it hard to determine if there is any problem with the actual software, deliberate or accidental. There is still ongoing litigation on that issue.
IMO, it would be better for Georgia to switch to character reading vote counting devices that are based on actual marked ballots that can be used for hard copy hand recounts.
The best solution is either paper ballots or standing count.

I have been involved in these investigations. Here’s how this works: I hire an attorney who contracts investigators to collect evidence and prepare a report. The attorney then decides what laws are broken, etc. All evidence is maintained by the investigators. They do not “turn over” evidence their report is based upon (unless they are explicitly expected to by contract or subpoena). They usually offer copies. Therefore, the end client in this case True the Vote never holds the “evidence” (even the original evidence if they were given copies). To “turn over” evidence would taint the chain of custody of this evidence by putting it in the custody of people not directly involved in the investigation.
Yet, this seems to be exactly what Georgia officials are asking to be done, which of course is what True the Vote is complaining that Georgia official did with the 2020 ballots. Ironic.
I have one case that did have prosecutors get geolocation data from cell phone companies which was then used to charge a public official with felonies for multiple instances of voter fraud.
But what an interesting mess the Georgia officials have there.
