Second Circuit Will Hear Challenge to New York’s Petition Deadline on May 14, Tuesday

The Second Circuit will hear Meadors v Erie County Board of Elections, 23-1054, on Tuesday, May 14. This is the challenge to the May petition deadline for independent candidates and the nominees of unqualified parties. The case was brought by Byron Brown, Mayor of Buffalo. He lost in U.S. District Court and then he appealed to the Second Circuit.

  1. Fidel Castro was a Communist. Under his rule, private property was abolished. It became illegal for anyone to have a business. It became illegal for anyone to hire anyone else to do work (except one could hire a relative).

    Some commenters are making a mockery out of the English language. Good communication depends on not abusing our common vocabulary.

  2. A mayor in the US has a lot less power than a dictator of a banana republic. A lot of communists are not in a position to make sweeping changes in society like Castro did. That doesn’t make them any less communist. They would if they could.

  3. I’m more of a fascist in practice, but communism is my ultimate goal.
