Democratic Party Plans to Nominate Joe Biden by a Virtual Roll-Call in Advance of the Chicago Convention, Even Though No State Any Longer Threatens Their Ballot Access

According to a source within the Democratic National Committee, the party expects to nominate for president and vice-president in advance of the Chicago August convention, even though there is no longer any publicly revealed reason to do so.  As already noted, Ohio altered the deadline on Sunday, June 2, so there is no longer any problem with certification deadlines.

Nothing on the Democratic Party’s national website mentions this, and no news story I have found explains why the party is doing this.  Some speculate that the party is afraid of protests at the Chicago convention, so if the party has already nominated with a virtual roll-call, perhaps that might make the convention venue less appealing as a protest zone.

  2. Jerry’s explanation seems highly plausible. So does the Infowars article’s suggestion that another Biden term would likely mean WWIII, full scale nuclear exchange, and the end of humanity, or at least human civilization.

  15. It seems that an extremely unsuccessful presidency made Biden more hated than Hillary ever has been. People did NOT like what they experienced with him as President. I’m sure Hillary also would have ended up being more hated than initially if she became president.

    His net approval on 538 is -18.9 today, the lowest it has EVER been. And while Hillary was leading Trump in general election national polls throughout over 99% of the cycle, Biden has been losing to Trump in general election national polls for the majority of the 2024 campaign, especially since September 2023 according to RCP.
