I still think the craziest, most corrupt Republican winner of the week award goes to Oklahoma school superintendent Ryan Walters, for his plan to purchase 55,000 bibles to be placed in school classrooms teaching history and literature with the criteria for the bibles being so specific (must be bound in leather, must contain the Pledge of Allegiance, Declaration of Independence, and U.S. Constitution), that the only bible that meets the specifications is the one which gives a kickback to Trump. And these bibles are 20 times more expensive than others and the purchase order is for 10 times as many as needed for every history and literature classroom.

There is a good chance that a number of states won’t send certified electoral votes to DC by the deadline. When that happens, Congress can still determine the winner entirely on just the electoral votes received. This has happened before.

Anyway, Congress is the final court for all federal elections. If the House accepts members that have been certified elected by the state, that Representative’s election is final. Likewise by the Senate for Senators.
If Congress meeting in joint session accepts the electoral votes for President delivered by the states, THAT”S IT. The election is FINAL; there is NO appeal from that decision in the Constitution. Any state’s “non-acceptance” of that is legally irrelevant, no matter HOW many illegals may have voted in a particular state. Any question of whether valid votes were cast in any state for Presidential electors needs to be resolved IN THAT STATE BEFORE they deliver those votes to Congress. Congress MAY (and HAS) tossed out electoral votes that they deem are invalid; but if they DON”T, it’s DONE. The election is OVER.
And, also, the Constitution gives states control over how there electors are chosen. A state may chose to pick them by lottery, if it wants; nothing in the Constitution forbids it. A state may decide to accept the popular vote totals from ALL the combined states’ totals to award their electors. A state may, and states have, pick their electors by the legislature. A state may chose to invite every resident alien in the state to participate in the choosing of electors -nothing in the Constitution forbids it. A state may even invite anyone in the WORLD – US citizen, or not – to mail in votes to choose their Presidential electors; crazy as that sounds – the Constitution does not forbid it.
How electors are chosen is entirely up to each state – that’s the way it was intended to be.

You get to do that when the returns are reported to Congress. The House and the Senate can each refuse to seat a member. Congress in joint session can reject electoral votes. That’s the way our federal system works.
Article I, Section 5 says:
“Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members”
