On January 7, HR 780 to restore subsidies for Obamacare passed the House.  Nine Republicans voted Yes.  Seven of them were from closed primary states.

Supporters of open primaries constantly assert that closed primaries advance extremist politicians.   The vote on HR 780 is one more example indicating they are wrong.

I recognize that African Ooga Booga Obama wasn’t eligible to be President and thus had no legal authority to sign any bill into law, so anything he signed should be declared null and void, including Osamacare.     The major US party which is closest to fascist as well as communist is the Democrats, who are more accurately called demon rats. The Republicans used to be pretty much just as bad before Trump, so I and many others I know are long time supporters of smaller political parties who have become Trump supporters. In many cases, we still support minor parties for various office and still hold out the possibility we might go the minor party route if the rhinoes who used to lead the GOP take it back over, which seemed like a real short term possibility as recently as 5 years ago this time of year. We are not necessarily out of those woods yet.

    We continue to participate in this forum because discussions here frequently touch on many subjects we care about, not just minor parties.
