Trump Loses Again in Court; Federal Judge Rules Against Executive Order on Voting Laws

The States of Washington and Oregon triumphed in this matter, which claimed that the President’s Executive Order would have required major changes to their election systems. US District Court Judge John H. Chun, a Biden appointee, ruled that the President of the United States does not have the power to control elections.

While there might be some value to posting pieces from Democracy Docket, particularly pertaining to court cases, folks should bear in mind that it is a heavily pro-Democratic Party website; one of its contributors is none other than Marc Elias, the lawyer who claims to be saving democracy in one breath while suing third parties off the ballot in another.

    As for the case itself, the fascists who comment on here might disagree, but I think this ruling was the right call. The Constitution is technically still in full force; there has *NOT* been an Article V convention or a proper amendment process concerning election law or separation of powers. Creating election legislation is technically the purview of Congress and/or the state legislatures, not the President. Sadly, “Real Facts” is probably right about SCOTUS; they stopped caring about the Constitution years ago.

  8. Joshua, fascism and minimal government are opposites. I’m for minimum government. DemonRats are for more government than Republicans, thanks to massive voter registration and vote fraud by Demon Rats.

    It’s part of the proper duties of the executive branch to investigate and stop vote fraud which impacts federal elections. And, when we do away with the massive fraud, we’ll be able to cut government much more without so many demon rats in office.

    If you want anything resembling constitutional government as written or intended, or if you oppose fascists, enabling the demon rats to steal more elections should be the absolute last thing you want.

  11. Ron: I retired on December 20th 2024 but continued to work part-time until July 4th 2025. I am very happy that I will never have to work again.   23. The relevant subject here is: the President of the United States does not have the power to control elections.
    Congress alone has the constitutional power to override state election laws. It doesn’t because state ballot access censorship keeps them in office by making voters the jointly owned serfs of the Democratic and Republican parties.
