That won’t happen and ABC is fake news.
The story quotes many individuals. Do you think the reporter accurately quoted all those individuals? If not, why not? How would it be advantageous for any reporter to just make up quotes? That would quickly be uncovered, because the quoted individuals, if they didn’t really say those things, would bring the scandal to light.
The Democrats would have only themselves to blame if they get shut out of the general election. They championed Top Two, they ran something like a dozen or so significant candidates this year. After years of Top Two shutting out just about all non-Presidential minor party and Independent candidates in CA, the Democrats might end up learning first hand what said candidates and parties have gone though. Hopefully it spurs them to repeal Top Two, something they should have done years ago when its immense flaws became obvious.

California Democratic politicians are not to blame for top-two. The people who caused it are Republicans: Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lieutenant Governor Abel Maldonado, and wealthy activist Charles Munger, R., who was at one time a Republican Party statewide officer.
I sure hope this happens. Maybe it will inspire Democrats to repeal Top Two Primary and restore thr previous election law in California.

It’ll never happen. I’d love to see it happen. But I’ll bet my salary for a year that there will be a Democrat on the ballot in November.
