Gary Swing has this op-ed in Tucson’s daily newspaper, the Arizona Daily Star, advocating that Arizona’s ballot access laws be eased. Among other things, he advocates that small qualified parties be allowed to nominate by convention instead of by primary.
Why should the laws be different for larger parties? Shouldn’t parties decide for themselves how they endorse or nominate anyone, regardless of size?
I agree with you, and Alabama, South Carolina, and Virginia do let all parties decide whether to use primary or convention.
But generally in the U.S., primaries have been around so long (in most states since the 1900’s decade) that it is unthinkable that state legislators would let the Democratic or Republican Parties dispense with primaries.
Tucson’s newspaper is called the Arizona Daily Star, just as Phoenix’s paper is the Arizona Republic and Flagstaff’s paper is the Arizona Daily Sun.
I thought Winger banned Stock?
Stock banned himself. He asked me to block his comments so as to make it very clear that any comments are not his.
So that’s a different Robert Stock directly above? An imposter using his name? Or the ban has been lifted?

Knapp, you have just outed yourself as a paid agent of Red China, most likely compromised while you were an active duty Marine:

Thanks for the Tucson Agenda link. Tucson Agenda mentioned that I’m a Green write-in candidate for Arizona CD6, but their report overlooks the difference in the write-in process for “new” vs. “continuing” parties. Primary candidates for “new” parties don’t have a required threshold.

Kash Patel’s FBI should really investigate Knapp’s loyalty to our country, or rather lack thereof.
