Irvine, California Voters Will Decide Whether to Use Ranked Choice Voting for City Offices

On July 14, the city council of Irvine, California, voted to ask voters in November 2026 if the city should use Ranked Choice Voting for elections for Mayor and City Council. Irvine has a population of 300,000 and is one of the hundred most populous cities in the nation.
