On July 24, the Democratic Party’s Rules & Bylaws Committee issued its hopes for the 2028 presidential primary schedule. The most drastic change was for New Mexico, which has always held presidential primaries in June. The party recommended that New Mexico hold its 2028 presidential primary on February 15. The Democratic Party controls state government in New Mexico, so it is likely the legislature in 2027 will pass a bill to implement that much earlier primary date. It is unclear if the legislature would leave the primary for non-presidential office in June.
The Committee also recommended that South Carolina hold its primary before any other Democratic primary, and to hold it on January 22. In 2024 South Carolina’s Democratic presidential primary was February 3.
The Committee wants Nevada second, and New Hampshire third, but the party doesn’t have enough legislature support in New Hampshire to amend the state law that says the New Hampshire primary must always be the earliest presidential primary. The Democratic Party wants New Mexico fourth, Michigan fifth, and Virginia sixth. Those six states would be the only ones with primaries earlier than March.
I honestly think the Democratic Party is, of the two major parties, the more racist and generally prejudicial. If there main goal is something other than electing a Black president they could choose a state more demograpically representative of the nation as a whole. Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Virginia are all better choices. Nevada isn’t bad, though, for the West. However you look at it, the Democrats absolutely have a racial hierarchy in mind.
@Term Limits NY… I think it looks more like what they’re trying to do is have more conservative states first, which will vote for corporate and establishment democrats over DSA or DSA-adjacent Democrats, thus giving the establishment an early delegate lead. They’re hoping the left of the party would then suspend their candidacies for being too far behind.

@AZ… “SENILE BIDEN RUNNING AGAIN ???”… Kind of, apparently Harris is polling in the 20% – 40% area for the Democratic Primary. Other than the cognitive decline in Biden, there’s not much difference between the two of them.
Seems like the (early) top 4 are Harris, Newsom, Buttigieg, and Ocasio-Cortez. On the Republican side it’s basically just Vance. Rubio is 20 points behind in nearly every poll.
In my book, Buttigieg is the least worst option so far.

If I were Jassenoff, and if they succeed in tossing him, I would turn around and endorse the Democrat. The Democrats are better on a plethora of social issues, and Trump (and increasingly likely the Senate) will block any kind of outlandish spending bills that would come out of the House anyway.
“Aiden” is known troll Robert K Stock. He wants communists to win.
I am not exactly sure how this article relates to ballot access. The Democrats have ballot access everywhere.
@Stop trolling… Nope not Stock and not a troll. That would be you. All anybody has to do is go through the years of posts on this website and see who posts thoughtful, well reasoned, multi-sentence comments under the same username consistently and who posts comments of two word ad hominems under varying aliases… hint the latter is you.
And simple logical reason would lead somebody who thinks through the situation, Democrats economic agenda is irrelevant in the mid-terms this cycle. They have no significant power even if they hold a a majority in the house; other than shutting down the government… which, a libertarian should say is good.
“Aiden”(Stock) is terrible liar, and a communist.
