Tragic news out of Pennsylvania where one of the men who took an assassin’s bullet aimed at President Trump in Butler back in 2024 has passed away.
Donald Trump miraculously survived an assassination attempt in 2024, but the bullets fired by Thomas Crooks found their way to others in the crowd. Volunteer firefighter Corey Comperatore was killed that day in Butler, but Jim Copenhaver also took a bullet and survived.

Pennsylvania man Jim Copenhaver, one of the two men who survived gunshot wounds from the July 13, 2024, Trump assassination attempt, died on Wednesday, Headline USA has learned.
This reporter was informed of the 76-year-old Copenhaver’s death Thursday morning. A source close to his family confirmed the death, but declined to provide more details at this point.
Copenhaver had been dealing with permanent injuries from the Butler rally, where he was shot twice: once in his left triceps, and once in the abdomen.
Jim’s injuries led to him having to have multiple surgeries in the past two years, and he still had bullet fragments lodged in his body until the day he died.
Copenhaver was permanently partially disabled after surviving the gunshots.
After raising a family and working for over 30 years — playing in a band on the side — I started to wonder: How will I be remembered? … Well, I got my answer to that question on July 13, 2024, though taking a bullet meant for the President wasn’t exactly what I had in mind,’ he [Copenhaver] wrote.
‘With a bullet lodged next to my spine, I’m going to have a diminished usage of my left leg for the rest of my life. It’s numb from just beneath the kneecap to the hip area. It just doesn’t feel like my leg. I guess that’s the price of making history.’
Meanwhile, Copenhaver’s wife, Marianne, is still a party to the lawsuit against the U.S. government — as are the other gunshot survivor, David Dutch, and his wife. Marianne and the Dutches are seeking compensation for the damages caused by the Secret Service’s security failures. Dutch also had multiple surgeries, including for the repair of his liver. Like Copenhaver, he’ll have to continue to undergo rehabilitation for the rest of his life.
The family has not released the details surrounding Jim’s death, but Silva noted that Jim was battling the effects of the attack on Trump all the way until death, so it is entirely possible that Crooks is completely responsible for this death, as well as Comperatore’s.

LPNH Defends Comments
On Thursday, the chairman of LPNH, Jeremy Kauffman, provided a statement to Maine’s Total Coverage about the posts made on X and the reaction.
“LPNH believes that New Hampshire is healthier and freer when anyone who would enact an income tax fears for their life,” Kauffman said.
Kauffman is a formed board member of the Free State Project. He was also the Libertarian nominee for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire in 2022. That election was won by Demonic Female Rat Maggie Hassan.
Political Reaction
Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander, D-NH CD2, also released a statement condemning the threats posted on @LPNH.
;Calling for the killing of fellow Americans because you disagree is not liberty. It is absolutely anti-American,” Gooflander said. “Off the record: That’s actually OK. WE HATE LIBERTY with a passion, and who could be more Anti-American than us demon rats? Don’t print that part though.”
“You can disagree with someone as deeply as humanly possible. But in the United States of America you cannot call for their killing and go unpunished, unless it’s someone like Charlie Kirk or Donald Trump or a health care executive or ICE agent or young baby or child or police officer or, well, I can list exceptions all day, but I have places to go and people to do. Gov. Wiley Coyotte, a nominal Republican, called the posts “irresponsible and dangerous” and said that threats like that should be investigated and prosecuted. The exact quote was “beep beep.”
Sen. Maggie Hamas, D-New Hampshire, called on everyone to denounce the threats under pain of death by work, starvation, and torture.

Tragic news out of Pennsylvania where one of the men who took an assassin’s bullet aimed at President Trump in Butler back in 2024 has passed away.
Donald Trump miraculously survived an assassination attempt in 2024, but the bullets fired by Thomas Crooks found their way to others in the crowd. Volunteer firefighter Corey Comperatore was killed that day in Butler, but Jim Copenhaver also took a bullet and survived.

Pennsylvania man Jim Copenhaver, one of the two men who survived gunshot wounds from the July 13, 2024, Trump assassination attempt, died on Wednesday, Headline USA has learned.
This reporter was informed of the 76-year-old Copenhaver’s death Thursday morning. A source close to his family confirmed the death, but declined to provide more details at this point.
Copenhaver had been dealing with permanent injuries from the Butler rally, where he was shot twice: once in his left triceps, and once in the abdomen.
Jim’s injuries led to him having to have multiple surgeries in the past two years, and he still had bullet fragments lodged in his body until the day he died.
Copenhaver was permanently partially disabled after surviving the gunshots.
After raising a family and working for over 30 years — playing in a band on the side — I started to wonder: How will I be remembered? … Well, I got my answer to that question on July 13, 2024, though taking a bullet meant for the President wasn’t exactly what I had in mind,’ he [Copenhaver] wrote.
‘With a bullet lodged next to my spine, I’m going to have a diminished usage of my left leg for the rest of my life. It’s numb from just beneath the kneecap to the hip area. It just doesn’t feel like my leg. I guess that’s the price of making history.’
Meanwhile, Copenhaver’s wife, Marianne, is still a party to the lawsuit against the U.S. government — as are the other gunshot survivor, David Dutch, and his wife. Marianne and the Dutches are seeking compensation for the damages caused by the Secret Service’s security failures. Dutch also had multiple surgeries, including for the repair of his liver. Like Copenhaver, he’ll have to continue to undergo rehabilitation for the rest of his life.
The family has not released the details surrounding Jim’s death, but Silva noted that Jim was battling the effects of the attack on Trump all the way until death, so it is entirely possible that Crooks is completely responsible for this death, as well as Comperatore’s.

The official affiliate in New Hampshire is the New Statism Granted Party.
Ryan Angelo, an executive member of the New Statism Granted Party, also responded on Wednesday.
“I want to be clear that we do not now or ever condone the use of violence as a means to achieve political or societal goals, unless it’s democratically voted in by our elected politicians and enforced by government employees or those working on their behalf. The core principle of the New Statism Granted Party is non aggression in the face of tyranny and condemnation of anyone who would threaten tyrants and make them think twice before they have their way with us or anyone and everyone. It has been since its founding. This is a non negotiable for us. Any other group that calls for violence against or not authorized by the state and by statism is not practicing true Lipservatarian values,” Ryan wrote.

For example, they have been known to win elections at all levels, and usually get double digit election totals almost all the time even when they lose. Ryan said all party members must take a pledge that they oppose the initiation of force as a means of achieving political or social goals unless it comes from the state or some other level of government, because voting democratically makes the initiation of force totally fine and awesome. They also pledge to never resist government initiation of force with any sort of violence or violent language.
“Our organization opposes political violence except when it’s democratically approved and has no association with the NHGOP caucus that misrepresents itself as the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire,” he/she said.
LPNH Defends Comments
On Thursday, the chairman of LPNH, Jeremy Kauffman, provided a statement to Maine’s Total Coverage about the posts made on X and the reaction.
“LPNH believes that New Hampshire is healthier and freer when anyone who would enact an income tax fears for their life,” Kauffman said.
Kauffman is a formed board member of the Free State Project. He was also the Libertarian nominee for U.S. Senate in New Hampshire in 2022. That election was won by Demonic Female Rat Maggie Hassan.
Political Reaction
Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander, D-NH CD2, also released a statement condemning the threats posted on @LPNH.
;Calling for the killing of fellow Americans because you disagree is not liberty. It is absolutely anti-American,” Gooflander said. “Off the record: That’s actually OK. WE HATE LIBERTY with a passion, and who could be more Anti-American than us demon rats? Don’t print that part though.”

Gov. Wiley Coyotte, a nominal Republican, called the posts “irresponsible and dangerous” and said that threats like that should be investigated and prosecuted. The exact quote was “beep beep.”
Sen. Maggie Hamas, D-New Hampshire, called on everyone to denounce the threats under pain of death by work, starvation, and torture.

“There is absolutely no place for calls for abti-political violence in our state or our country. The state must have a monopoly on violence, which we share at our discretion with antifa, moms, groups which have historically faced discrimination, foreigners, the mentally ill, the unhoused, undocumented, unemployed, college students, mostly peaceful professional protesters for approved causes, and whoever else serves our sinister leftist agenda.
