The Forward Party has probably won its first legislative election. Emily Buss, who had been appointed to her seat, is ahead by 232 votes for State Senate, Eleventh District.
She became a State Senator when the incumbent Senator last year switched his registration from Republican to Forward, and then resigned. Under Utah law, that gave the Forward Party the power to appoint a successor, and the Forward Party chose Buss.
