The Arkansas Green Party is not ballot-qualified for 2010, because it failed to poll 3% for president in 2008 and because its bill to redefine “political party” failed to pass this year. The party is already planning a new petition drive to get back on the ballot, which must be completed in any 90 days of the party’s choosing. The drive will be in 2009.
It is rediculous that a party with an elected legislator who scored 20% in a US Senate race last year is not qualified for the ballot.
Yes it is, and in addition to this, the Greens also elected somebody to the State Legislature in Arkansas.
Whoops, just noticed that you mentioned their elected legislator.
Probably he forgot to separate the legislator from the senate candidate.
Is there no judicial action which could be taken? It seems unreasonable.
I thought they said that they were going to take it to court after Richard Carroll’s bill for fairer ballot access failed.

So did I. What happened with the court case?
Just shadows of the Kansas/ Missouri mindset of two party duopoly constantly being propped up by the media, official government and the back room boys.
Yet another symptom of the costly path of self-destruction the Greens sunk into nationally under both Cobb and McKinney.
Charles,
This situation has absolutely nothing to do with Cobb or McKinney. I think most of us can tell a red herring when we see it.
