On March 19, the Arizona Libertarian Party sent this two-page letter to the three judges who heard its ballot access lawsuit on March 12. The purpose of the letter is to clarify a fact about the case that seemed obscured during the oral argument.
Arizona should require that voters be affiliated in order to sign a candidate petition. They could do like Maine, and permit a voter to affiliate at the time they sign the petition, or do like Texas where signing a petition for primary ballot access is an affiliating act.
Better yet would be to adopt Top 2.
