Scotusblog Lists Alabama Ballot Access Case as a “Petition of the Week”

Scotusblog, the leading blog about U.S. Supreme Court news, has listed Hall v Merrill as one of the two “petitions of the week”. This is the Alabama ballot access case involving special elections for U.S. House. Scotusblog reviews all the cert petitions and identifies those that it believes have a fair chance of being accepted by the Court.

  1. If SCOTUS takes an appeal, then SB has a case page for paperwork

    — mainly briefs of parties and amicus gangs — esp. usual suspects in election law cases.

    See for example the 2 pending gerrymander cases in SCOTUS —

    dozens of briefs from the usual left/right suspects.

  2. kudos to COFOE (closely affiliated with BAN) for their amicus in this case.

    i found the cert petition and amicus persuasive, at least in showing the court had erred.
