According to this story, Georgia county election officials in 120 counties (out of 159) have signed a request to the legislature and the Governor that the legislature move the 2022 primary from late May to late June. If that happens, the legislature would probably also move the petition deadline for independent candidates, and the nominees of unqualified parties, from July to August.
The legislature comes back into special session on November 3, 2021.
Primaries and filing deadlines have become moveable feats. They get moved back when the political establishment wants to disadvantage their rivals, and forward when they want to accommodate their friends.

The California Libertarian Party’s systemic racism really hurt us bad when they censored Georgia Presidential candidate John Monds [Libertarian] at the state nominating convention in 2020 when he was one of six nominees relegated to the floor by the Old Boy Network’s approval vote where only a slate of whites made it into the State’s only debate.
