The new law said the voters of the former legislator’s party should choose the new legislator. On May 15, the League of Women Voters, and some voters, filed a federal lawsuit against the new law. League of Women Voters of Colorado v Griswold, 1:26cv-2103. Here is the Complaint. The case is assigned to Magistrate Judge Timothy P. O’Hara.

CANDIDATE/INCUMBENT REPLACEMENT LISTS DURING ELECTION TIME/TERM
THAT’S ONE OF THE DUMBEST IDEAS EVER !!!!
Better idea:
NO PRIMARIES/CAUCUSES/CONVENTIONS FOR NOMINATIONS.
WINNING PARTY PICKS OFFICEHOLDERS IMMEDIATELY AFTER WINNING. RIGHT THERE IN THE ELECTION HALL THAT VERY SAME EVENING.
REPLACES OR SWAPS THEM OUT AT WILL UNTIL THE FOLLOWING YEAR’S ELECTION.
