As has been reported, a New York state trial court judge removed Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., from the ballot on August 12, and did not consider the constitutional issues involved in her decision.  Kennedy already had a federal ballot access lawsuit pending in New York, but it had been dormant and had been filed before he had any expectation that his residence would be a problem for him.

On August 23, Friday, he will amend his federal complaint to deal with the constitutional issues.  Kennedy v Berger, s.d., 1:24cv-03897.

The results of the Green Party’s national convention of August 17, for president, are:  Jill Stein 267, Jasmine Sherman 13, Davi 2, Ajamu Baraka one-half, Randy Toler one-half, abstain 7, NOTA 3.  Total 293.

Four years ago, the vote was:  Howie Hawkins 210, Dario Hunter 102, SKM Curry 11.5, Dennis Lambert 8.5, David Rolde 4.5, Jesse Ventura 7, Kent Mesplay 2, Lochoki 1, Bernie Sanders one-half, no nominee 10.  Total 357.

On August 16, just before the Green Party’s national convention opens, Jill Stein endorsed California Professor Rudolph “Butch” Ware as her vice-presidential running mate.  See this story.

Californians are now running for president or vice-president on at least four tickets:  Democratic, Green, independent (Kennedy), and independent (West).
