On September 15, Oregon Green Party gubernatorial nominee Nathalie Paravicini withdrew from the race and endorsed the Democratic nominee. Oregon permits fusion, and she is also the Progressive Party nominee. Her reason is that the Democratic nominee has come out in favor of campaign contribution limits. See this story.
On September 16, the Democratic, Libertarian, and Constitution Party nominees for U.S. Senate in Missouri debated each other. The Republican nominee did not participate, although he was invited. See this story.
On September 15, opponents of Michigan’s term limits law for legislative candidates filed this reply brief in Kowall v Benson, 21-1360. The case is on the U.S. Supreme Court’s September 28 conference.
On September 16, Georgia filed this brief in Graham v Carr, n.d., 1:22cv-3613. This is the Libertarian Party case that challenges the law that lets individuals give unlimited amounts of campaign contributions to Democratic and Republican nominees for Governor and Lieutenant Governor, but caps donations from individuals to the nominees of other parties.
On September 16, a New Mexico state trial court kept Jeremy Gay on the November 2022 ballot. He is the Republican nominee for Attorney General. His eligibility had been challenged over duration of residency in New Mexico. The judge said the lawsuit had been filed too late.
