The Vermont Secretary of State’s website has this list of qualified parties: Democratic, Republican, Progressive, Libertarian, and Green Mountain Peace & Justice. The latter party is actually the Liberty Union Party, with a new name.
The Working Families Party is no longer qualified in Vermont.
New stories say the Libertarian Party is running Ericka Redic for U.S. House. She is the first Libertarian to run for Vermont’s U.S. House seat since 2002.
On October 12, the Eleventh Circuit stayed the order of a U.S. District Court in Rose v Raffensperger, 22-12593. This is the case over whether Georgia’s Public Service Commissioners should be elected statewide, or in districts. The Eleventh Circuit order, restoring statewide elections for 2022, was 2-1. Judges Adalberto Jordan, an Obama appointee, and Robert J. Luck, a Trump appointee, were in the majority. They said little about the merits, but that the U.S. District Court Judge should not have changed the elections to district elections so close to the election. Judge Robin S. Rosenbaum, an Obama appointee, dissented. Here is the order, in which the dissent is much longer than the majority portion.
Michael Badnarik died on August 11, 2022. He was the Libertarian presidential nominee in 2004. He was 68.
On August 11, the Fourth Circuit issued a one-page unsigned order, refusing the Democratic Party’s request for a stay in the North Carolina Green Party ballot access case.

The deadline has passed for independent candidate petitions, and petitions for the nominees of unqualified parties, in New Hampshire. Two separate statewide petitions for Libertarians were submitted.
One has Jeremy Kauffman for Governor and Karlyn Borysenko for U.S. Senate.
The other has Kelly Halldorson for Governor.
Assuming both petitions are valid, and there are two Libertarians on the ballot for Governor, it appears that the vote for both of them may be combined, to see if the combined total equals 4% of the vote cast. The New Hampshire definition of “political party” is “any political organization which received at least 4% of the total number of votes.”
