  1. Elections for all elective executive offices and all judges should be NONPARTISAN — to get NONPARTISAN enforcement of the laws.

    NO primaries are needed.

Approval Voting – vote for 1 or more, highest win — pending major public education about head to head math.

  2. Percentages for each of them are:
    Republicrats: 97.558%
    Libertarian: 1.561%
    Green: 0.187%
    Constitution: 0.174
    Liberty Union: 0.010%
    Blue Enigma: 0.010%
    independents: 0.500%

all votes other than the Republicrats: 2.442%

  3. I note that Mike Munger of North Carolina won half of the Libertarian gubernatorial votes. How many races had a Libertarian candidate?

  4. In some ways the totals are a little misleading. The Greens only contested one Gubernatorial race (WV) where Jesse Johnson captured 4.5% of the vote for the second best none Dem/Rep finish in 2008. The best none major party finish in the country was Independent Anthony Pollina in Vermont (21.2%).

While the Libertarians captured by far the most votes of any third party none of there candidate broke 3%. The LP’s best finish was in North Carolina where Michael Munger received 2.9% of the vote.

  5. PTK,

The Libertarian Party fielded candidates in 6 of the 11 races not 5

    Indiana – Andy Horning – 2.1%
    Missouri – Andrew Finkenstadt – 1.1%
    Montana – Stan Jones – 2.0%
    New Hampshire – Susan Newell – 2.2%
North Carolina – Michael Munger – 2.9% (Best LP Finish)
    Utah – Dell Schanze – 2.6%

  6. Evidence that we in the CP need to run far more candidates for office, including for Governor.

I do want to congratulate Missouri, Michigan, Nevada and Utah who ran large slates of candidates and who continue to provide a great leadership by example.
