Illinois League of Women Voters Asks for Reconsideration in Gerrymandering Lawsuit

On November 10, the Illinois League of Women Voters submitted this 6-page request for reconsideration in the League’s lawsuit against the legislative redistricting plan. As noted in an earlier post, a U.S. District Court on October 28 had rejected the League’s argument that the First Amendment prohibits partisan gerrymanders.

  1. ANTI-Democracy gerrymanders in ALL States — since the first gerrymander election in each State.

    300 plus years in VA, MA and early colonies – later States.

    Lesser years in newer States – but which had gerrymanders in many of them when they were U.S.A. Territories — the parts of the old N.W. Territory, etc.
