Oklahoma Finishes Tallying Votes

The Oklahoma Election Board has finished tally the votes for last week’s election. See them here. Oklahoma is one of only five states that bans all write-ins, so the returns aren’t as interesting as the returns of most states. Thanks to E. Zachary Knight for this news.

Oklahoma Finishes Tallying Votes — 10 Comments

  1. IN ALL of the State returns —

UNEQUAL votes for each gerrymander area winner – USA Senators, USA Reps, State senators, State reps.

    ALL oligarchs all the time.

Armies of media MORONS — too many to count.

    P.R. and nonpartisan App.V.

  2. Gary Johnson got 5.75% of the vote in Oklahoma, which was his fourth best state in terms of percentage of the vote.

Going forward, in my opinion, I think Oklahoma could be one of the most promising places in the country for the Libertarian Party to be successful in the future. I’d argue this based on the following points:

    – They seem to have a higher propensity than other states for supporting third parties. This was one of Ross Perot’s best states in 1992 (as one example).

    – Being that they are a deep red state helps. I’ve thought all along that a good strategy for the Libertarians is to target deep red or deep blue states. Their political argument in Oklahoma would be that the Democratic party, as it is today has no credibility in the state and can never be competitive, but that it isn’t right for the Republicans to run away with everything. The Republicans need credible opposition, and the Libertarians are the party to provide it. In effect, they would be arguing that they are the second party in the state, and that the Democrats are the third party. In deep blue states, a similar argument would be made, but with the parties reversed.

    – Oklahoma’s horrendous ballot access laws would help. There is a pool of voters who are generic third party supporters. They would vote for any third party no matter who it is. Where other third parties have ballot access (eg., the Greens), that vote gets split. With the combination of horrendous ballot access laws, and the fact that the Libertarians have cleared those hurdles, they are the only third party game in town, which should help their vote totals.

  3. Demo Rep continues to spew irrelevant nonsense.

I am an Oklahoma Libertarian and am overjoyed with our election results. We are excitedly looking forward to 2018.

  4. Continue to be honored by the usual suspects — who have ZERO substantive to say/write about the Democracy math CRISIS in the USA.

How many third party and independent gerrymander area winners since 1933 (as a percentage of all of the elections since 1933) — due to gerrymanders and unequal ballot access laws ??? — esp. in OK land.

How many pre-school civics folks are brain dead ignorant (or brainwashed) about the EVIL in the brains of the top gerrymander control freak monsters in Devil City and in each State Capitol ???

    P.R. and nonpartisan App.V.

  5. For the folks with some math brain cells —

The current rotted system — each gerrymander HACK has one vote in a legislative body REGARDLESS of —

    1. Unequal votes in getting elected.
    2. Unequal total votes in each gerrymander district.
    3. 1/2 or less votes x 1/2 rigged districts = 1/4 or less indirectly CONTROL = OLIGARCHY = MINORITY RULE.

Nonstop social and economic chaos due to the OLIGARCHS in the State and Fed regimes — since 1776 / 1789.

P.R. and nonpartisan App.V. — to END the chaos.

  6. Demo Rep I think I will just ignore your posts in the future. I am sorry I let you get under my skin. It won’t happen again.

  7. How many people voted in Oklahoma compared to those that didn’t vote.Non voters do exist.

  8. The Fed hacks have NOT passed a simple law requiring the State hacks to report on the ACTUAL number of voters in Fed elections — to get the number of non-votes.

    — i.e. also to detect simple ballot box stuffing.

  9. A little over 1,450,000 people voted in Oklahoma. That would mean around 500,000 registered Oklahoma voters stayed home.
