Michigan Voters in 13th District Sue Governor to Force a Special Election Earlier than November 2018

On December 27, five Michigan voters filed a lawsuit against the Governor, to force him to call a special election sooner than November 2018 to fill the vacancy in the 13th U.S. House district. See this Courthouse News Story. The district currently has no representative because Congressman John Conyers resigned last month.

The case is Rhodes v Snyder, e.d., 2:17cv-14186. It is assigned to Judge Mark A. Goldsmith, an Obama appointee. Thanks to Thomas Jones for this news.

  1. Part of the de facto DEAD 1787 USA Const —

I-2-4 When vacancies happen in the Representation from any State, the Executive Authority thereof shall issue Writs of Election to fill such Vacancies.

One more fatal late Dark Age defect (ie no time limits) — of about 7 major defects.

Candidate/member rank order replacement lists — NO more high cost/ low turnout vacancy elections.

  2. HACK Elephant Guv — obviously under command orders from Deficit City to have 1 less Donkey USA Rep for as long as possible.

  3. If the election is in Nov 2018–

then the winner will be deemed elected in early Dec 2018 — until 3 Jan 2019.

If the gerrymander Congress is NOT in session (as is likely), then service time will be ZERO

    — some FREE taxpayer $$$ cash with ZERO work.
