Ohio Governor John Kasich Suggests he is Open to Running for President as an Independent — 8 Comments

  1. Who wants another 40 (repeat 40) percent Prez winner ???

    See 1860 — about 750,000 DEAD in 1861-1865.

Uniform definition of Elector-Voter in ALL of the USA.

    PR and AppV

  2. The United Coalition is interested in independent campaigns for government elections.

Our team brought pure proportional representation (PPR) to the ballot qualified parties in California and we’re were slandered, censored and our voices were snuffed out.

One example was 2012 when our candidate won the only primary by a political party proclaiming to protect free speech liberties, and with 52.7% but they were not interested and their party bosses denied our voices at their nominating convention.

So we can move on with confidence from political parties and support independent candidates under PPR.

  3. For sake of the Republican Party, it would be better if he ran in the Republican primaries directly against Trump.

  4. Is there anyone besides John Kasich who has any interest in a presidential run as either an Independent or a Republican by John Kasich?

  5. CP —

Perhaps some Biz persons who can sell some buttons and bumper stickers and even do some TV attack ads to/for JK for some $$$ ???

See the now infamous Ross Perot in 1992 >>> 1993 Bill Clinton Prez – about 43 percent winner

    — basic chaos since 1992 — 26 years and counting.

    A bit like the 1832-1860 buildup — 28 years.

  6. Interesting scenario here!

I think it would be a good idea to reform the Presidential Election. Have Presidential and Vicepresidential candidates appear on the ballot individually. A sample ballot for 2020 would be something like this (hypothetical situation):

    – ELECTORS FOR TRUMP
    – ELECTORS FOR PENCE
    – ELECTORS FOR CLINTON
    – ELECTORS FOR KAINE
    – ELECTORS FOR KASICH
    – ELECTORS FOR HICKENLOOPER

Voters would rank the candidates 1,2,3, etc. 33.34% would be the threshold to win a seat. It could be like half a state’s Presidential Electors could go to the candidate that got the first seat and the other half of the state’s Presidential Electors could go to the candidate that got the second seat. Of course, if there’s a state with an odd number of electoral votes, you could give the remaining Presidential Elector to the runner-up of the final count. Just brainstorming here!
