U.S. Supreme Court Doesn’t Issue Any Full Election Law Opinions

On June 4, the U.S. Supreme Court did not issue any full opinions on election law. The next opinion day is Monday, June 11. There are five election law cases pending: three redistricting, one on political clothing at the polls, and one on Ohio’s voter purge procedures.

On June 4 the court did decline to accept Scarnati v Agre, 17-1368. This is the case in which Republican Pennsylvania legislators argued that a 3-judge federal court had violated the rights of the legislators by forcing them to produce internal documents about the redistricting process. They did produce the documents, but then they sued and claimed they should not have been forced to do that, under the Speech or Debate Clause of the U.S. Constitution, which protects the speech of members of Congress and state legislatures. Thanks to Rick Hasen for that news.

  1. RE the **forcing them to produce internal documents about the redistricting process** stuff can obviously happen again in the future —

the SCOTUS MORONS show again how corrupt/stupid they are — in election related cases esp.

  2. The Speech or Debate Clauses happened due to the Brit tyrant monarchs purging members of the Brit Parliament who made hostile comments about the actions/nonactions of such monarchs and their appointed hack stooges – esp in the 1400s-1600s — a part of the lead up to the 1688-1689 Brit Revolution – ending with Brit Parliament supremacy.

SCOTUS morons have screwed up the mess when Fed., State or local legislators enact UNCONSTITUTIONAL legislation — ie voting YES [NOT a part of any speech or debate] = NO immunity.

ie ALL parts of the USA Const having prohibitions/restrictions on Fed., State or local legislation —

    1-9, 1-10, 13-14-15 etc Amdts

IE put the gerrymander hacks into a Fed jail, pay $$$ damages, etc.
