    PR AND APPV

MAX RATIO OF VOTERS / LEGISLATORS ???

    — BEFORE THE LEGISLATORS ARE TOTALLY POWERMAD

    — UNDER THE TOTAL CONTROL OF SUPER-RICH MONSTERS.

  2. Somewhat disorganized. Apparently many persons signed up for free tickets, but did not appear, so they were invited to move down closer. The college president spoke a really long time, and managed to invoke suffragettes, and noted that the woman (note singular) candidate stood on their shoulders. The LWV person explained the rules. There were yellow and red paddles to indicate timing. Each candidate had two red cards which they could use to send off other candidates for things like deliberate fouls, late tackles, etc. (or perhaps it was to indicate that they wanted to have a rebuttal.

The candidates walked through the audience to their lecterns. Hawkins and Miner walked to theirs as Sharpe fist-bumped supporters. It was announced that four of the candidates had accepted the invitation. Sharpe politely asked, “who’s missing?”

  3. TV ratings below zero ???

Hoards of voters waiting outside for C to show up ???

Any free candy bars to keep the audience awake ???

ANY thing new and different seen or heard in the stunt event ???

  4. @DR,

The news article has a link to a video of the event.

It wasn’t really a debate but a forum, the panelist would ask a question then the candidates would answer in turn. If a candidate wanted to talk longer he could raise a red card and talk 30 minutes more.

Howie Hawkins sounds like he has a southern accent, sort of like Fritz Hollings, but I can’t find anything in his bio to explain it. Maybe it is because he looks like Col. Sanders.

Stephanie Miner is quite reasonable and could do better if voters could compare her to the other candidates.

Larry Sharpe is the only candidate from NYC and sounds and acts like it. He proposed stopping public education a 10th grade, and giving a grant to go to prep school, college, vocational training, etc. He also suggested selling naming rights to public facilities. He would also talk during other comments. He said he was the only one who could defeat Cuomo, if Molinari would drop out.edi

There was a question about engaging young voters. Sharpe suggested he was the only one communicating through new media. Miner suggested changing the lockout for enrolling with a party. Currently, if a parent wants their child to be able to vote in a primary at 18, they have to enroll then in preschool.
