On March 28, the Iowa House passed HJR 14, a proposed constitutional amendment. It would let ex-felons register to vote. If the Senate also passes it this year, then it would need to pass both houses again in 2020. If it does that, then it would be on the 2022 ballot for the voters to decide whether to pass it. Currently Iowa is the only non-southern state that does not permit ex-felons to vote.
How many alleged felon folks (esp local minorities) due to FALSE evidence / corrupt judges / jurors ???
Elector- USA Citizen, 18 yrs olde plus, 14-1 resident. PERIOD.
No such thing as an ex-felon. Ex-Con, yes, but once a felon, always a felon. FYI, in West Virginia, felons who have completed their probation and parole are eligible to reapply for voter registration as if nothing ever happened. IMO, that is the correct procedure.
In England-
After the convict criminal has been punished he/she is fully restored in his/her *reputation* – part of *life*.
MAJOR slander/libel to mention his/her former criminal activity.
—
Now of course in many regimes there are New Age lifetime punishments.
—
Due to SCOTUS HACKS since 1964 NY Times case – nonstop slander and libel — against everybody.
See esp. late night TV talk shows.
Just fine for kids seeing adults at work = more DEAD bodies later on.
IE — slander/libel = revenge = DEATH = more convicts.
Iowa is the only state other than Virginia that does not permit felons who have completed their sentence from voting. Unlike Virginia’s Democratic governor, Iowa’s Republican governor did not dress in blackface in college.
