Before the Florida legislature adjourned, it amended the omnibus election law bill, SB 7066, to it more difficult for many ex-felons to register to vote. The amendment says they cannot register until they have paid all court costs, fines, and restitution. This article explains all the administrative problems that the amendment causes. Governor Ron DeSantis hasn’t signed the bill yet.

The basis for the restoration of voting rights is a constitutional amendment the voters passed in November 2018, an initiative, question four. There was nothing in that initiative about other kinds of rights.
Again, Richard. There is no such thing as an ex-felon. You are referring to ex cons. I would rather see ex cons voting than welfare recipients.
Jeff, I understand that you don’t agree with my definition, but my definition clarifies the difference between people serving time in prison for a felon (“felons”) and people who have been released (“ex-felons”). I think my definition provides clarity.
