Oral Argument Date Set for Minnesota Libertarian Ballot Access Case

U.S. District Court Judge David S. Doty, a Reagan appointee, will hear Libertarian Party of Minnesota v Choi, 0:19cv-2312, on Tuesday, May 19, at 10 a.m. This is the case that challenges the wording on petitions for independent candidates and the nominees of unqualified parties. It says the signer does not expect to vote in the upcoming primary. Obviously this wording makes it more difficult to persuade individuals to sign such petitions.

Similar cases have won in the past in New York and West Virginia.
