New York County Election Boards Vary Widely in Showing Election Returns for Disputed U.S. House Race

As has been well-publicized, there is still no resolution of who won the U.S. House race in New York’s 22nd District.  That district includes eight counties.  Each county Board of Elections has a website, but the websites of the eight counties differ drastically in regards to this race.

Broome, Cortland, Madison, Oswego, and Tioga County Boards all have unofficial election results for this race on their websites.

Chenango County lists the race in its election returns, but all totals for the candidate in this race are blank.

Herkimer County has election returns for all other offices, but does not even list the 22nd district.

Most extreme of all, Oneida County has no election results for any race in the November 2020 election.

Six parties had nominees in the race.  The Republican and Conservative Parties nominated Claudia Tenney.  The Democratic, Working Families, and Independence Parties nominated Anthony Brindisi, the incumbent.  The Libertarian Party nominated Keith D. Price.  Newspaper stories say the vote at the end of November was:  Tenney 155,519; Brindisi 155,500; Price 6,755.  Since then the totals have changed slightly, as a state trial court orders recounts and evaluates certain disputed ballots.

  1. Do you know what the story is with NY State Assembly district 9? The state election returns have identical numbers for both of the candidates for both Nassau and Suffolk counties.

  5. It’s funny how no paper ever mentions that Tenney’s campaign filed a fraudulent “certificate of authorization” to try to get the Libertarian line in this race. Luckily the state LP caught it and put a stop to it.

  27. Demo Rep: You are mistaken. If what you say about Harris not being a citizen and not being eligible to be President is correct, then it would have been decided during the Democratic primaries. What you have suggested was dismissed out of hand during the primaries. Her eligibility was accepted then, her eligibility stands now.

  28. Ted Cruz was born in Canada to a Cuban citizen father and United States citizen mother. No one thought twice about his eligibility to be President. His father did not negate his United States citizenship.

    Harris’ father’s citizenship does not invalidate her United States citizenship. It just means she has dual or possibly triple citizenship United States, Jamaica, and India. Most importantly she was born in the United States. Case closed.

  33. Sure my boss knows. This shift is very slow. Most guests are asleep. There are hours where no one comes to the front desk. The phone may ring only two or three times during my entire shift. Most of my time is spent watching television or on the internet. As long as I drop what I am doing when a guest comes to the front desk or the phone does ring I can do whatever the hell I want.     There is nothing in the Constitution or United State law that prohibits dual citizenship.
