  1. Now that there’s a post about a genuine communist watch all the Trump trolls say nothing. “Socialist Workers” is such a deceiving name for this party…. They’re genuine communists. Socialist don’t favor the collective determining who gets what and when, nor do they believe in a complete lack of private property, communists do. Socialist do believe in the collective ownership of the means of production (which I disagree with) but they certainly do not believe in the collective distribution of assets. There’s still the exchange of currency and a market in socialism…. Neither of those things exist in a communist system.

Start by naming which regimes were or are “real majority rule democracy.” Note that you contradicted yourself, when you earlier rejected body counts as a metric due to evolving technology.     Now that I’ve reminded you which regimes were on which side of the left right divide, something I already explained above earlier, you can proceed with the body count, if you wish. As I said earlier, early results of all your ” enlightenment ” based experiments don’t look good.

    You’ll notice a common element in that many of your “enlightened” human meat grinding machines claim to be some sort of scientific approach : scientific racism, scientific socialism, political science, etc. Instead, their approach is the opposite of science. They start with a pre-determined hypothesis, and then continuously double down and make the empirical facts fit their hypothesis or distort, ignore, or disregard them, never questioning their core hypothesis. This is the opposite of the scientific approach.

    The traditional approach, while explicitly faith based, is actually more scientific, because it’s based on thousands of years of trial and error which show the least harmful ways of organizing government and society in the long run.

  54. That’s your idea of science? My kids were better at science by the third grade. Even the special needs ones.

    Let’s start with the basics. Again. First, tell me which regimes were or are true democracy in your opinion. How long have they been around, and how many people have they killed?

    Second, don’t forget that better does not mean perfect, and it still means a lot of people killed and enslaved. But the alternative isn’t some utopia where no one is killed or enslaved. It’s the “enlightenment,” and everything which has sprung from its hubristic, short term, idiotic pretend thinking which tries to put men, or worse yet women, on God’s throne, and ends up bowing down to Satan.

    Third, Just how stable are your “true democracies”? How often do they end up in totalitarian hell, and how long before they do?

    FOURTH, You still have not even begun to correctly balance the ledger of the “enlightenment.” AS I EXPLAINED, communism and national SOCIALISM belong on your side of the ledger, the left side, not mine, the right side. They are all based on the hubris of believing that we can take the place of God and His revealed natural order and improve on it, perhaps even create our own heaven on earth without God. Pride comes before the fall. This what you keep trying to ignore or gloss over.

    Why are communists, Nazis, and fascists all on the left along with democracy? Because they think they can all radically remake the world in a short time and make it better. Even if they could for a brief period of time, how much worse will they make it in the long run?

    As a law enforcement officer, my job is to deal with criminals and control crime. Criminals are short term thinkers. They act on impulse, or pursue short term gains, ignoring long term risks. Typically, they use illegal drugs. The drugs make them feel a lot better for a short time. But they destroy their bodies and minds over time. They end up dead at a young age, or worn out and useless. Often they end up doing longer and longer stints in jails and prisons as they get older – life on the installment plan.

    The lure of dope highs and fast money is much like the lure of every newfangled, radical idea that seeks to throw out thousands of years of traditions, promising a quick fix for the world’s problems. Whether that quick fix is dope, democracy, fascism, communism, criminal schemes – it doesn’t matter. None of these shortcuts work, especially in the long run. They all lead to ruin, sometimes quickly, sometimes less quickly, but they never lead to anything good in the long run.

    As for World War I, I don’t see any innocent parties there. Everyone involved was guilty, and more or less equally responsible for all the lives destroyed. If anything, the United States under “progressive” democrat Wilson bears the most blame for prolonging the war with its late entry. As a result, instead of a neutral stalemate, Germany was humiliated and the Bolsheviks were allowed to take Russia.

    That led to the rise of Hitler and Stalin. Then, instead of staying out of the conflict between those two, the ” true democracies ” of the west picked the worst of the two totalitarian, leftist regimes to ally with. Stalin most likely would have won anyway, and then could have been brought to heel with atomic bombs, before he had any. Had Hitler rolled through the Urals, but the full might of the US was focused on Japan and none in Europe, he could have been met by GIs in Siberia while atomic bombs fell on Germany.

    Either way, Nazism, fascism and communism would have been done. Instead, we lived with the cold war, the fall of China, and although the Soviet Union eventually fell, Red China is only growing stronger and more dangerous. Thus, we are stopping with the stupidity of “true democracies ” attacking Germany in both world wars today.

    Still want to tally and compare body counts? I wouldn’t if I was you.

    The Hazard Rate of Political Regimes

    Abstract
    We present a preliminary study on the stability of political regimes. In a longitudinal data set we study the effect of some observable economic and political conditions on the hazard rate of different types of political regimes. We find that economic development has a stabilizing effect in countries with democratic political institutions, but rich autocracies do not show a lower hazard rate than less developed autocracies. While the stability of autocracies is not affected by their degree of economic development, it is greatly associated with the degree of popular discontent. Widespread discontent with leaders in autocratic regimes highly increases their hazard rate. This relationship is much weaker for regimes with democratic institutions. We also find a non-monotonic time dependence pattern for the hazard rate of political regimes. Political regimes are found to be at an increasing risk of collapse during the first years, with their hazard rates reaching a peak around the fourth year.
