  1. Knappie boy’s party supports UBI. The founder is communist Andrew Yang. Clearly a communist group.

  2. Ed Yet I’m sure you support the ubi program for the elderly. Social Security.

A $1000 a month UBI would eliminate TANF, likely some parts of Medicaid, and nearly half of the annual social security budget. And it would reduce crime, because fewer people would steal shit because they’d actually have money to buy it; thereby lowering court and policing costs and letting police focus on violent crime, like trafficking.

  3. Actually, I don’t support Social Security. It’s a government run Ponzi scheme.

    Try again, communist Aiden.

  4. Crime and military defense are the only legitimate areas for government to address. Everything else is better addressed in other ways.

  5. Commie retards like Knapp and Aiden think printing even more money and giving it out will solve things. They have no clue how economics works.

  6. It sounds like a dangerous Marxist scheme to me. Getting everyone on the country used to monthly govt checks, what could go wrong.

  7. When Yang started the Forward Party, it was about UBI. Later when it re-launched, UBI wasn’t even mentioned in its platform. The three planks were ranked-choice voting, independent redistricting commissions, and open primaries. I agree with the first two of those, and disagree with the last one.

As for UBI itself, I’ve always been clearly and unambiguously against it, including in its “Fair” Tax “prebate” version.

  8. What do they mean by “open” primaries? Top two schemes? Who appoints the “independent” redistricting commissions, or how are they selected?

  9. 1k per month is over 4 trillion a year if everyone were to get it. Would government do nothing else, would taxes go way up, or who all would or wouldn’t get ubi?

  10. Ranked choice voting confuses voters and gets communists elected. I don’t trust it.

  11. RCV elects commies. Look at Alaska as exhibit A. These “independent” committees are full of commies, which manipulate boundary lines so they heavily favor Democrats (communists). Michigan is the latest example of that.
Thomas Knapp openly pushes these communist proposals, therefore he is a communist and thus, a retard.

  12. Bob,

What they mean by “open primaries” is that instead of only voters registered with the party in question being able to vote in its primary, any voter can vote in any primary. I’m against that. In fact, I’m against government-funded primaries entirely. Parties should be able to pick their candidates any way they please, and they should pay for their own selection process.

You put your finger on the problem with “independent” districting commissions. They’d still be partisan, they just wouldn’t be clearly labeled. If we’re going to have districting (I prefer abolishing the state entirely), I’d like it be algorithmic, with the algorithm open source and both it and its work product available for public inspection, coded to produce the most compact districts of [insert number here] voters possible without regard to race, party affiliation, etc.

Mike, Alaska is indeed Exhibit A for Ranked Choice Voting. Sarah Palin — a commie extraordinaire who took great pride in e.g. handing out “free” gasoline debit cards, etc. — was the most popular candidate with a minority, and the least popular candidate with the majority.

  13. It’s $2.2 trillion a year for only adults; of which $400 billion would be cut out of the social security budget and moved to a UBI. And the economy would grow by that same amount. Coupled with replacing the income tax with a 20% national sales tax (widening the tax base in the process) and 20% corporate flat tax (which would bring in a lot of new companies to the US) you’d get the $1.8 trillion fairly easily. 20% of GDP would be about $6 trillion dollars a year.

A 20% sales tax with a $1000 UBI a month would effectively mean nobody under $65000 a year would pay taxes. While the “benefit” to each individual would organically slide from $9.6k a year for some one who doesn’t work at all (they still “lose” $2400 a year to the sales tax) to $0 (all $12k would go to covering annual sales taxes) around $65k a year.

  14. There are about 260 million people age 18 and over in the US. 12K a year is 3.12 trillion, not 2.2 …

Replacing income tax is a ruse. In reality you’ll end up with both.

20% corporate flat tax would kill many companies which are not operating at a profit, or sufficient profit, even if they otherwise one day would.

What makes you think the economy would grow by any amount? It’s more likely lazy poor people would quit working, thus inflating labor costs. Productive people would move out of the US or into underground economy.

What are you cutting except for 400b? If that’s all you cut, outlays would be over 9 trillion. How are you paying for all of that?

  15. I am surprised that the Constitution Party registration increased by 67%. Have they been working on a registration drive?

  16. Yang is a fan of top two or top whatever number schemes. That’s probably what they mean by “open primaries.” Unless it specifically says otherwise, since that’s how the top number people sell their schemes.

  17. ALL THE ROTTED TAXES NOW DUE TO ANTI-DEMOCRACY MINORITY RULE GERRYMANDER REGIMES –

ESP ALL THE REGRESSIVE TAXES – PROPERTY, SALES, IMPORT TAXES.

    6,000 YEARS WAR –
***NET*** TAX/BORROW LOOTERS VS ***NET*** TAX PAYERS SLAVES / SAVERS

ON TOP OF ALL THE SOCIAL MACHINATIONS.

    NET LOOTER GANGS –
    GOVT OFFICERS/EMPLOYEES , CONTRACTORS, WELFARITES

    P-A-T

  18. Florida should require parties to have a state convention with a quorum equal to the square root of the number of registered members.

  19. Thomas Knapp and Aiden are rivaling AZ in terms of retardedness.

Palin was the least commie candidate. Alaska nominated the most commie, proving how evil RCV is.

  20. THIS IS A PURGE LIST RUN BY PRE SKOOOOOL MORONS

IF I YELL MORE MAYBE I WILL GET MY WAY

WHY DO I SMELL LIKE CAT URINE?

    P-A-T

  21. Palin may or may not have been the “least commie” (although she’s certainly a big-time commie).

But she was also the least popular. A majority of those voting preferred someone else.

  22. Hey retard, the system now has a least popular, it’s called last place. You don’t need RCV bullshit, which always favors the biggest commie because Democrats rig it.

  23. AZ is if course wrong. High taxes are not due to minority rule. The majority votes for politicians who promise more from the government. It’s not just government employees, contractors, and welfare recipients. Throw in their families, friends, retirees, and lots of other past, future, or potential recipients of government money. Add everyone who can’t imagine how various things government does could be done any other way. Add every special interest, big and small, that wants more of one thing or another from government.

Each of those things has a concentrated lobby of beneficiaries, and a dispersed body of payers. The incentive is always to spend more. But spending more is easier than taxing more, so currencies are debased, inflation adds up, and debt compounds. Politicians who rack up debts and increase spending tend to be popular. There is no long view; politicians only worry about the next election.

None of this is due to minority rule. It’s due precisely to majority rule. More direct democracy would only exacerbate the speed of the rot. Bolshevik means majoritarian. People were genuinely grief stricken when Stalin died, even though he was a monster who killed tens of millions and enslaved hundreds of millions. Many still want him back. The masses are asses. Democracy is mob rule.

AZ is right that the USA has seen rot since its founding (except when he claims progress) and it’s precisely because the limits on government that existed then didn’t hold, as democracy expanded. My proposals are based on looking for ways to keep that from happening again.

By making government very local and simple, and extremely limited in scope; by making laws simple to remember and understand, and difficult to change; by making population replacement extremely difficult; and so on. Only moving in that direction would cut out the rot, because moving in the opposite direction – the one AZ proposes to move in more quickly – has spread it.

As for net tax payers? Good luck even figuring it out. Government has evolved, not coincidentally, in such a way as to make most people not fit neatly into a looted or looter class. To the extent a distinctly looted class exists, it’s the “one percentile” rich – that is, a distinct minority. Pure democracy would cause them to emigrate, hide their money, or lay off workers and close businesses, because they would get looted way too effectively by the unchecked majority.

  24. Caucus style voting incorporates the better elements of ranked choice without the worst. Individuals, groups, or whole parties can physically walk over to join another party during the 2 or 3 hours of speeches, presentations, etc. The final vote should be plurality winner, which makes counting and tabulation much easier. The standing count only needs to be done once.

  25. This is all too confusing. I’m just going to write-in Thomas L. Knapp for president in 2024.

  26. We’ve also figured out Casual Observer is a commie for wanting to write in a commie.

  27. 34 L–M–R
    33 R–M–L
    16 M–L–R
    16 M–R–L
    99

    WHO SHOULD WIN ???
    L = LEFTWING EXTREMIST – AKA COMMIE
    R = RIGHTWING EXTREMIST – AKA FASCIE
    M = MUDDLED MIDDLE

  28. AZZ still hasn’t figured out fascists are LEFT wing extremists, despite being spoon fed links with indisputable proof repeatedly.

  29. Trick question. L, M and R are actually all leftists wearing different guises, and should all lose. In fact, chances are extremely high that none of them ought to have been eligible to either vote or serve.

  30. TROLL MORONS ALL FLUNK – DUE TO NO ATTEMPT AT AN ANSWER.

    PLURALITY — L

    RCV — L — BUT R IF 15 M-L-R AND 17 R-M-L

APPROVAL — RASHLY GUESSING THAT ABOUT HALF OF THE M 2ND CHOICE VOTES ARE YES VOTES — LIKELY M

    CONDORCET — M

  31. Sarwark said he would vote from Dick Cheney. That means Knappie Boy loves Dick Cheney.

  32. I would rank Knapp as #3 on the BAN retard list. Robert K Stock is #2 and of course AZ is #1.
