Ohio Secretary of State Says His Office Will Finish Checking No Labels Party Petition by July 2024

This Cincinnati Enquirer article about minor party and independent presidential candidates in Ohio quotes Frank LaRose, Ohio Secretary of State, as saying his office will have finished checking the validity of the No Labels party petition “by July 2024.” The petition was submitted in the spring of 2023. It is unparalleled that any state take so long to check the validity of a petition for political party recognition.

The requirement is 40,345 valid signatures. The last time any group did the party petition in Ohio was 2018, when the Libertarian Party qualified. The state checked that petition in a matter of weeks.

Ohio Secretary of State Says His Office Will Finish Checking No Labels Party Petition by July 2024 — 24 Comments

  1. 1) Do we know how many raw signatures were submitted?
    2) What’s the deadline for petitioning?
    3) Can No Labels submit supplementary petitions, if needed?

  2. Over 100,000 signatures were submitted by No Labels in Ohio. The petition deadline is in July 2024. Lo Labels already submitted a supplemental petition months ago.

  3. MAY BE THE SOS HACK IS HOPING THE PARTY WILL FORGET THE FILING ???

ONE MORE REASON TO HAVE 1 VOTER PETS FOR INDIVIDUAL CANDIDATES.

  4. How many other states is no labels having this issue in? Any partisan divide among states not checking signatures long since submitted by this group? Or, perhaps they hope for no nomination, making checking those signatures moot? Any other explanations?

  5. MAYBE AZ IS THE TROLL MORON???

ONE MORE REASON FLORIDA STATE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFF THIS YEAR.

  6. It’s clear that many states just want to stymie independent and third party candidates. They could save everyone time, and make money, if they just charged filing fees for nomination papers.

But, NOOO, they have to waste the taxpayers’ money and the labor and time of state employees checking signatures filed on an outrageous number of petitions.

  7. AZ must really want to kill trees. Finding excuses as to why is easy. Anything can be “yet another reason” for what he wants to do anyway.

It’s like a crackhead finding yet another reason to smoke crack. Daddy stole the election? Yet another reason. Chinese payment late? Another reason. Chinese money came in? Another reason. They talking about me on tv? Yep, another reason. Two roaches are crawling up the motel wall, and one of them will be faster than the other. Whichever one it is, is yet another reason!

  8. There should be no candidates and no petitions. Vote by party only. On the record standing count. Winning party picks officeholders. Voting access by party precinct captain living and voting in the precinct, showing up and leading his party in person on election night.

  9. EASY TO BE A TROLL MORON AND HAVE KILLER/ENSLAVER TYRANTS IN CONTROL WITH NOOO ELECTION STUFF TO WORRY ABOUT.

  10. I’m glad AZ finds it easy to be itself with Biden in control through stolen elections, but it’s got another thing coming when Trump beats the cheat next year.

  11. Alabama beat the #1 team and clearly belongs in the playoff. Florida State is clearly not the same team without its starting quarterback. Michigan is obviously disappointed it’s going to have to play Bama instead of FSU. That alone should tell you something.

I have not seen any evidence that Ohio State is anything like Bama. They are both one loss teams with their only loss being to a team that’s now in the playoff. However, Ohio State just lost to Michigan at the end of the regular season, whereas Bama lost to Texas way back in September and is so improved since then, it’s just not the same team now as it was then.

Looking forward to the 12 team playoff next year. Right now Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, and Ohio State would all still be in, and the only ones complaining would be Oklahoma. How are they not a New Years Six team?

  12. Anyone who claims that Donald Trump won the 2020 election ought to tell us which states were called incorrectly.

  13. See woke pedo site for dumb woke pedo jokes. Or better yet don’t.

  14. @Max,

A standing count is not a record vote. It is a way to get a more accurate division count.

If the Republican won, would Ronna McDaniel appoint all office holders in the United States?

  15. Standing counts can be on the record. I’m not Max.

If Republicans won it would be up to them how to appoint officeholders, but as I understand the Max plan it would devolve power to be much more local.

  16. @Max,

How would the secretary/clerk record the votes?

If you want have a record vote use signed ballots and call each voter to orally confirm their vote.

  17. Again, I’m not Max. And I don’t understand your question. Let’s say 40 people are standing in one group. As they are counted off, they would sit down. It would be broadcast live and recorded for subsequent viewing. There would be no question how many votes each group got or how each voter voted.

  18. @Max,

Where would these video recordings be stored? Who was that guy in the blue shirt and a beard? Do you have any examples of this procedure being used in 2023?

Why did you choose such a small number as 40? There could be millions voting in a gubernatorial election.

Let’s assume one second per vote. That would be 86,400 per 24 hours day. 12 days for a million votes. 60 days for 5 million.

  19. Jim Riley, why do you insist on having a conversation with me when I wasn’t in the conversation? I don’t even know who Max Plan FTW is, and I must say it’s odd to have fans.

I don’t know how video will be stored in the future. The technology keeps changing. It’s not particularly challenging even with present day technology.

As I’ve told you previously, 40 sounds like a fairly likely number. I’d have far fewer eligible voters, in far smaller geographic jurisdictions. The voters would be well known to each other.

Going forward, please do me the courtesy of not mixing me up with my alleged fans, followers, or whatever they are.

  20. LaRose is a trickster, he’s taking so long on this in order to reduce their public exposure clearly…

  21. @Richard Winger, election fraud is as old as the country, and it gets more sophisticated as time goes along…I don’t like to rehash old elections but to deny the possibility of them being stolen is to deny reality…I don’t even really like Trump btw.
