Michigan Supreme Court Keeps Former President Donald Trump on Ballot

On December 27, the Michigan Supreme Court issued a short opinion, agreeing with the lower courts and keeping former President Donald Trump on the Michigan Republican presidential primary ballot. The vote was unanimous. See this story. LaBrant v Benson, 166470.  Here is the decision.  All justices except one simply refused to accept the case, which means the lower court decision stands.  The chief justice, Elizabeth Welch, would have taken the case but she would have ruled that Michigan law does not permit the Secretary of State to consider qualifications.

  1. If I’m not mistaken, that’s the ruling those of us in the right wing peanut section here predicted.

  3. I hope you all don’t mind me feeding the troll moron, because the question is not a bad one.

How many? Hard to say, because they bleed into each other in space and time, and because at what point does a particular action quality as a war?

We could keep asking questions, but I’m skeptical that they have answers.

If an embassy guard discharges a weapon is that war? If it kills a foreigner , is that war? Is putting a missile up a camel’s was a war? We can keep going and scale up, or for that matter down.

I’d ask the troll moron to define monarch, but that would be a waste of time.

Nations aren’t capable of seeing. I’d ask the troll moron if it meant governments, popular majorities, popular supermajorities etc; but asking it questions is of course a lack of time.

Perhaps someone else can define nations ; those accepted by United Abominations? Those accepted by USGOV? Some other definition? If the first, were Soviet Republics separate nations during the USSR era? Are US States nations, or is it the US as a whole? Are Lesotho and Swaziland and other Bantustans nations? How about “sovereign” American Inadian and Canadian First nations? Is the European Onion a nation, or it’s component nations? Both?

  4. Asking loaded , rhetorical and / or time wasting questions that don’t have answers is one of the two letter troll moron’s shopworn tactics, like posting fake news and phoney baloney polls, name calling, projection, etc, etc.

  5. Wmct,

Correcting obvious typos can easily be overdone.

  6. ONE ANSWER — 50 STATES IN THE USA REGIME ARE NATION-STATES.

NATIO-STATES SUBVERTED ESP BY SCOTUS PERVERSIONS — IN APPROX TIME ORDER —

RIVERS/LAKES INSIDE STATES SUBJECT TO USA ADMIRALTY AND MARITIME JURIS 3-2-1
    — PERVERSION OF STATES AND HIGH SEAS BORDERS — 1830S

    INTER-STATE COMMERCE CL 1-8-3 — 1870S

    GENERAL WELFARE CL 1-8-1 — 1936

    STATES ALMOST DEAD.

  7. LOL. Except when they’re gerrymandered imperial provinces to be merged or broken up or have their laws standardized whether they like it or not, invaded at will, held captive, etc, etc, by imperial diktat . According to the same two letter troll moron entity. Some sovereignty.

  8. Lulz. Perverted by scotus perversions, except when that same two letter troll moron entity wants to pervert it further by getting rid of the electoral college , Senate, and pretty much every other vestige of state sovereignty.

This is why it is both a troll and a moron.it contradicts itself constantly.

Judges are , to take another example, above reproach, except when they are hacks, morons, perverts, etc etc etc.

Its real purpose is to prevent intelligent conversations by taking up space and time and eliciting reactions. My apologies for feeding the attention zombie/prostitute .

  9. So do I, but sometimes I don’t catch myself and get goaded into it even though I know better, and every once in a while it leads to interesting questions or thoughts despite itself.

If we ignore the issue under what possible concept of sovereign nationhood US States currently qualify as sovereign (approximately the same as Soviet Republics when the USSR existed, minus United Abominations recognized status as such), how many US States would “see” fedgov as a lawless imperial power? That’s not a bad question, and not entirely off subject for OP. My thoughts on that in a bit.

  10. Ok, as promised. Caveats: obviously states don’t see.

But, to take an obvious example, I think the government of Texas and a growing majority of its people would see FEDGOV that way (imperial lawless power).

Texas fought two wars for independence, a successful one against Mexico and an unsuccessful one against FEDGOV less than two decades after joining the latter under the explicit condition it could withdraw at will, as well as the obvious implicit recognition of the same principle in the 9th and 10th federal constitution amendments, among many other things.

After being eaten by the blob, Texas was forcefully reconstructed and abused.

Texas has contributed disproportionately to all fedgov foreign and internal wars, many of which it would have never joined on its own.

Texas was invaded by Mexico again under Pancho Villa’s cucarachas, and defended by fedgov, although Texas didn’t need their help to handle Villa, Wetbacks, or any other invasion since being forced back into the union.

The egregious scotus moron decision Texas v White added insult to injury.

Fedgov has aided and abetted foreign attacks on Texas more and more, particularly across the Mexican border, in recent years.

This comment is getting way too long and I have other things to get to. More later.

  11. Expect zero amicus briefs unless USSC takes the case. The troll moron, as usual, Jump ahead of itself.

  12. If anyone needs or enjoys multiple fake news stories about the same thing , please raise your hands. Of course AZ will keep doing it whether anyone wants those links or not. Only God knows why.

History is destroyed and preserved all the time. It’s an ever ongoing battle. Being the only troll moron here, AZ is best equipped to explain its own spending choices, but I highly doubt anyone cares.

If it has questions for anyone except itself, it should not address them to troll morons, given it is the only troll moron present as far as anyone has successfully determined.

  13. Following up on 3:00 and 4:10

    Beyond Texas which US states?

FLORIDA would be a top one. We’ve had a couple of independent nations in the past (republics of East and West Florida) and were also forced back into the union and involuntary reconstructed.

Like Texas, we’ve been under illegal alien invasion recently, except primarily by sea rather than by land, but also by air and to a lesser extent by land like every other state in the form of buses filled with invaders from the Mexico border.

Like every former confederate and Jim Crow state, we’ve been under the federal boot more than most other states. And like them. We’ve contributed disproportionately to wars we never chose to fight, which only our involuntary association with FEDGOV got us into.

We’ve suffered under many FEDGOV policies we never chose, and wouldn’t have chosen for ourselves as an independent nation or in a freely chosen association of states. See numerous articles at League of the South website for copious detail .

Still do, to this day, and resist them as much as we can.

Make America Florida…there’s a lot to that. Or make Florida truly independent of the snowbirds states.

All former CSA states and territories for many of those same reason. That include CSA territories like today’s Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, the Las Vegas NV metro area, and “border” union or divided slave/Jim Crow states – WV, DE, MD, KY, WV, MO, KS.

AREAS that were once part of Texas ranging as far north as Wyoming.

Also, areas of the interior West where the FEDGOV claims most of the land, makes ranching and resource extraction difficult, used to fight Indian wars, etc .

    Anything along the Mexico border.

“Red” areas of “blue states” – extra chafing under two layers of highly unwanted government!

Breadbasket states, to a slightly lesser extent.

Most of Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania outside the biggest cities, inner suburbs, state capitals, college towns and a small number of other such geographically small areas.

    Increasingly, majority minority areas, too.

Special mention should go to CSA states which were also American revolutionary states – SC, GA, NC, VA. Also to Alaska because of its physical size, location and unique history. And Oklahoma, because of the Five Civilized Tribes.

States which allegedly went for Biden by 5% or less have extra grievance post 2020.

That’s just off top of head..

  14. Anything outside DC is about had it with the DC BOOT. Even deep blew sanctuaries NYC and Chicago are in near open rebellion over endless buses of unwanted invaders.

Residential areas of DC are unhappy with “no taxation without representation,” although many former residents moved to the burbs and vice versa fairly recently and many could fairly easily (obviously not all) if it was important to them.

If I could build walls at will, there would be one around the DC Beltway right after we finish the one with Mexico. Sink the Swamp and make Mar A Lago the official new White House, but also keep it Trump owned. I’m less than half joking.

When Trump is back in office, many blew sanctuaries will reeee, but they will be more conflicted about it, because overall they generally love FEDGOV way more than the rest of us.

  15. This ruling is one of the few goods things to have ever come out of the state of Michigan.

Michigan: the state where during the lockdowns, Gov Gretchen Whitmer’s husband himself violated her lockdown orders.
