Catoosa County Republican Party Files Federal Lawsuit to Exclude Candidates from Primary Ballot

On April 5, the Catoosa County (Georgia) filed a federal lawsuit to keep certain candidates off the Republican primary ballot for County Commission. Catoosa County Republican Party v Catoosa County Board of Elections, n.d., 4:24cv-95. The case is assigned to U.S. District Court Judge William Ray, a Trump appointee.

The primary is May 21. The party feels that some of the candidates (which includes some incumbents) are not bona fide Republicans. A state trial court already ruled in favor of the county board of elections. Thanks to Ned Foley for this news.

  1. Bonafide republican = taxpayer money unconditinally sent to Ukraine and Israel by Johnson and not the southern border, Liz Cheney their hero, not one penny to help senior citizens on social security except a few crumbs called a cost of living.

  2. In an alternate universe, the “bona fide” and the others could separate and compete in the general election. Instead, Georgia ballot access law and US political culture make that impossible.

Catoosa County is heavily Republican, and I bet the general election uses bloc voting. The Primary *is* the election. Therefore, the County party as a monopoly is trying to fix (predetermine) the election.

  3. Liz Cheney is not a bonafied Republican. She is a rhiness. If your bone head hasn’t been boned by Trump, you aren’t a bonafied Republican. Bonafied Republicans have a nose bone chained to the Trump train.

Ukraine, like Georgia, should be partnered with Russia.

Senior citizens should have saved for their own retirement. If they didn’t, they can save money by eating cat food. Or, in some extreme cases, cats.

  4. @AC,

In an alternate state (or county) in this same universe, supporters of different candidates in a primary would prepare slate cards, or mailers depicting the unwanted candidates as being aligned with Nancy Pelosi. Others would be sent out by the GA/FL Pork PAC.
