Definitely not my favorite three way.
I’ve had three ways with Democrats and Republicans before. You do what you gotta do.
Gonna be an awfully tight 3-way with the No Lube party in there.
Especially with the DnR (do not resuscitate) parties.
Last night there was a debate between Republican gubernatorial candidate Andy Biggs and Teri Ann Hourihan of the No Labels/Arizona Independent Party.
Green Party candidate Risa Lombardo had a last-minute emergency and although she’d agreed to debate, backed out.
There was a debate (you can find it on YouTube) for Arizona’s Congressional District 3, which featured the No Labels Party’s Alan Aversa and the Green Party’s David Redkey (since arrested); the incumbent Democratic congresswoman avoided it, and since she has no Republican opponent on the ballot, who can blame her?
Of the other Green Party candidates, Lisa Castillo (Lt. Governor), Duwayne Collier (Secretary of State), Gary Swing (Congressional District 3), Brendan Trachsler (Legislative District 6), and Hector Gomez (Legislative District 26) did not debate; Richard Grayson (Legislative District 7) debated a Democrat and a Republican.
Of the three Libertarian candidates, Monica Alponte (Congressional District 1), Curtis Goodwin (Congressional District 2), and Jereme Peters (Congressional District 6) did not debate.
Of the No Labels/AZ Independent Party candidates besides Teri Ann Hourihan, Angela Harrolle Mohan (Lieutenant Governor) debated her Republican opponent, but the Democratic and Green Party candidates did not show up. Jason LaForest (State Senator, District 5) debated himself, as his Democratic opponent did not show up. John Skirbst (Legislative District 3), Anthony Ramirez (State Senator, Legislative District 12) did not debate. In Legislative District 10, No Labels candidate for state rep David Scott debated two Democrats, and true independent Nick Fierro, a state senate candidate, debated a Democrat (the Republicans did not show up).
No write-in candidates were invited. So four No Labels/AZ Independent Party candidates and two Green Party candidates debated; no Libertarian candidates debated.
Also, Green Party candidate for Corporation Commission, a statewide office, did not debate. Only two Green Party candidates out of eight debated. Both of the debaters are listed as “Actively Opposed” on the Arizona Green Party website.
Mike Cease is the Green Party candidate for Corporation Commission.
The Arizona Green Party does not support five of its eight candidates.
The Arizona No Labels Party also does not support five of its eight candidates although it also supports three Democrats and three Republicans.
The Arizona Libertarian Party, of course, neither supports nor opposes its three candidates.
