According to this story, a PAC linked to the Republican Party has paid for mailers sent to Ohio voters in support of Greg Levy, the nominee of the Party for Socialism and Liberation for U.S. Senate.
Levy got on the ballot by using the independent candidate petition, which requires 5,000 signatures. By contrast, a petition for a new party would have required 57,678 signatures.
Because he used the independent procedure, Ohio law won’t let him have his party label on the ballot. The law says he is free to have no label, “other-party candidate”, or “no-party candidate.” He chose “other-party candidate.”
