According to this story, the Alaska Democratic Party has endorsed Dr. Al Gross for U.S. Senate in 2020. Alaska election laws allow independents to run in Democratic primaries, so perhaps Gross will run in the Democratic primary in 2020.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has still not acted on SB 212, which lets non-charter cities and counties use ranked choice voting for their own elections. He must decide whether to veto the bill, sign it, or let it become law without his signature, by the end of the day, Sunday, October 13. He did not act on the bill on Friday, October 11.
On October 11, the Commission on Presidential Debates released the dates and locations for the three general election presidential debates, and the vice-presidential debate. The three presidential debates are on September 29, October 15, and October 22. The vice-presidential debate is October 7. For the locations, see here from the Commission’s web page.
