On October 27, the New Jersey State Appeals Court that is hearing the fusion case refused to expedite the lawsuit. Therefore, it almost certainly will not have any impact on the 2024 election, no matter which way the decision goes. The case is In Re Tom Malinowski Petition for Nomination for General Election, A-3542-21T2. If the case had been expedited, and if fusion advocates had won, then the Moderate Party of New Jersey would have been on the November ballot, showing a nominee for U.S. House who was also the Democratic nominee.
On October 27, filing closed for the New Hampshire presidential primaries. There are 24 Republicans and 21 Democrats. Here is the list. Thanks to Daryl Perry for the link. New Hampshire is the second state for which filing has closed; Nevada was the first.
According to LPAR Chair Michael Pakko, word was received on Friday, October 27, from the Arkansas Secretary of State, that the LPAR is qualified for the ballot through the November 2024 General Election.
The Arkansas SoS said that 10,932 signatures were valid out of 13,214 signatures turned in, for a validity rate of 82.73%. Ten-thousand valid signatures were required for the petition to succeed.
This was a party petition, meaning that the LPAR is qualified for all partisan elections in Arkansas through November 5, 2024.
