U.S. District Court Refuses to Stay its Own Order in Alabama Redistricting Case

On September 11, the 3-judge U.S. District Court that is handling the Alabama redistricting case refused to stay its own order. Allen v Milligan, n.d., 2:21cv-1291. Here is the 26-page order.

Now the state will ask the U.S. Supreme Court for a stay. If the U.S. Supreme Court refuses a stay, then the 3-judge will prepare their own congressional redistricting plan.

Party for Socialism & Liberation Announces National Ticket for 2024

On September 8, the Party for Socialism & Liberation announced its 2024 national ticket. For president, Claudia De La Cruz; for vice-president, Karina Garcia. See here.

In 2020 the party got 85,623 votes for its national ticket, the highest total in the party’s history. It started running presidential campaigns in 2008.
