In Georgia, nominees for Governor and Lieutenant Governor may receive unlimited donations if they are the nominees of a party that polled 20% of the vote in the last election for president in the entire U.S., or for Governor of Georgia. But other nominees for Governor and Lieutenant Governor are limited to receiving contributions no greater than $7,600.
On September 8, the Libertarian nominee for Lieutenant Governor, Ryan Graham, filed a federal lawsuit, challenging the unequal treatment. Graham v Carr, n.d., 1:22cv-3613.
