American Shopping Party Nominates Brock Pierce for President — 32 Comments

  1. The Aloha Aina Party is also missing from the list. Did they also choose not to nominate anyone?

Bit confused that the American Shopping Party went with Brock Pierce instead Kanye given how he would have gotten more votes.

  2. Aloha Aina party seeks independence from USA. It would be a little silly to participate in national election from a country they want to secede from. If they decided to support a candidate they would not ne taken seriously by many of their supporters.

  3. Approval polls such as this one bring a one-party system.

No one in America wants the one-party voting system but the Libertarian Party is bringing it by censorship and insider Old Boy Network opposition to the new math of pure proportional representation.

Women don’t have but 18% of Electors and their vote can’t nominate either Prez or VP without around 55% of the votes under approval voting system.

Under pure proportional representation the threshold is 33.33% (plus one vote) for the Electors to nominate one of two.

The LNC used round by round with 50% plus one vote for both seats and that’s a one-party system because the biggest one faction won both seats one round at a time.

With at-large and judicial committee seats, slate voting allows the biggest faction to win 100% of the seats, by strategic planning.

All voting in the L.P. is incorrect. Only pure proportional representation is acceptable for electing names.

  4. Lord Vulpes, I don’t think Kanye West would have received more votes than Brock Pierce. Pierce has real ideas and a real campaign, and I think he is going to spend a lot of money soon on his campaign. West seems to have no campaign presence at all.

  5. OK, so Hawaii CP did not put Blankenship on their ballot even though they had access, but Mississippi did? And also Alaska even though they had disaffiliated? When is the Aloha State deadline? Follow the money.

  6. The people who would be voting for Kanye West would not do so because of any ideas, they would be doing so because they like Kanye West.

  7. Blankenship has spent very little on his presidential campaign, especially for a guy whose net worth is $40 million.

So it sounds like The American Shopping Party shopped around for a candidate, and they found a buyer in Brock Pierce.

  8. It’s to bad for Brock that he’s not on the ballot in any of the big states except New York. Seems he actually has a decently organized campaign going

  9. Like Kanye West, Brock Pierce is a ringer for Trump’s reelection campaign, a liberal-sounding candidate who might be able to peel off some naive younger voters from Biden.

Wasn’t Hawaii’s American Shopping Party concerned that the controversial former child actor, according to FEC records, had already contributed at least $105,600 to the President’s reelection campaign in addition to making several generous donations to the Republican National Committee?

  10. Sounds like Darcy Richardson is jealous Brock Pierce was chosen instead of himself and De la Fuente.

  11. Not really. The American Shopping Party’s platform is, um, kind of “out there,” to put it politely.

  12. The Constitution Party believes that the Hawaii state elections office website will soon show that Blankenship is on in Hawaii.

It has been fairly common this year for state election office websites to post a list of presidential candidates that is not yet complete. It took the D.C. Board of Elections a month before they amended their website list to show Jo Jorgensen is on the ballot.

  13. @Jeff- I wish there was Blankenship money. He should be spending way more than he does. It seems as though he’s been on more podcasts and radio shows than past Constitution Party presidential candidates though.

  14. Yep, Darcy is still salty. I would actually consider voting for Rocky if he wasn’t the VP and pushing him far more to the left.

  15. I’m not pushing Rocky to the left — just to the center where the plurality is in this highly-polarized political environment — but it’s still a free country and you can do whatever the hell you want, as though it matters and anyone would care, whoever you are.

  16. My only concern throughout this entire campaign, to be totally honest, is that Rocky, an otherwise decent man — and, more importantly, the nascent Alliance Party — shouldn’t be used as pawns in the President’s reelection effort.

This country couldn’t survive four more years of the nonsense spewed by the megalomaniac in the White House. People are dying needlessly because of this self-consumed moron — a man who spent six weeks at the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic calling it a “hoax.”

It’s pretty clear to most clear-eyed observers that Rocky is being used precisely for that purpose by California’s long-established American Independent Party, which paired him with the imbecilic, ill-informed Trump-loving Kanye West, and nearly suffered the same fate in Hawaii.

One can blame Mark Seidenberg for those boneheaded move.

Trump, a beneficiary of America’s sickening “celebrity culture,” has almost completely destroyed this country.

I want no part of it. I love this country too much.

  17. Shame on the American Independent and American Shopping parties, both of which placed Trump acolytes on their national tickets — one, a deranged rapper who has said publicly that he’d be happy to “siphon” votes from Joe Biden and the other, in the case of Hawaii’s peculiarly-named and offbeat American Shopping Party, which has nominated a presidential candidate with a sordid past involving young boys who has personally already given the Trump campaign at least $105,600.

I’m embarrassed, deeply embarrassed, that Rocky’s name was ever associated with either of those parties.

  18. Darcy if you are not happy being the VP then why don’t you leave? I personally like seeing you on the ticket with Rocky but don’t appreciate your comments on Brock Pierce and Kanye West. I actually am having some doubts that it is really you who is posting these messages. You come across someone who is bitter and not enjoyable to work with. If it is you writing these messages then someone else can replace you on the ticket. such as Sourayaa Faas. If she is not interested then maybe Max Abramson or J. Simmons. I hope that Darcy Richardson stays on the ticket.

  19. Sorry that you don’t appreciate my comments regarding Trump’s plants Kanye West and the creepy Brock Pierce, I’m not bitter, but Rocky and the Alliance Party deserve better, much better, than the obvious ringers working for Trump’s slick son-in-law Jared Kushner — the guy really calling the shots for his father-in law in this campaign — while arguably defending the worst administration in American history.

By the same token, I’m not a quitter and have been battling the corrupt duopoly for more than forty years. How about you?

  20. I’m not a politician and my line of work (banking/finance) is completely different. I guess l can day that l’m there for the customers and don’t back down even when l deal with difficult situations. Nothing to brag about but all situations should be dealt with like that. By the way l’m happy that you were chosen as the VP. I would love to see how you guys do in Florida. Good luck to both of you in the elections. Aside from the Libertarian party, l’m rooting for Alliance & Reform parties.

  21. Rocky is a good and decent man. Criticize and question my motives all you want, but when all hope is lost, I’ll be the last guy in the foxhole fighting for him — and the country he loves.

  22. Darcy sounds like an absolute jerk and a crybaby. No wonder no one will work with him. Notice how he won’t attack Biden for also originally wanting to do nothing about COVID. For the record, the numbers are being inflated, and government is going way too far in restricting freedom. It’s mostly the DEMOCRATS doing this, but the Republicans aren’t off the hook either.

  23. The American Shopping Party should have gone with the American Solidarity Party’s Brian Carroll and Amar Patel. That campaign expressed interest.

Lots of concerning things about Brock Pierce; his campaign is obviously well-organized though.

Thanks for all your work on third parties, Darcy. I don’t agree with everything you said but there are tough decisions to make.

  24. “Notice how he won’t attack Biden…”

To the contrary, Darcy has been highly critical of Joe Biden and the Democrats in terms of the current pandemic. You should listen to his ten-minute address to the Alliance Party’s national convention this past spring. Here’s a link to the transcript of that speech:

    http://www.uncoveredpolitics.com/2020/04/25/darcy-richardsons-speech-to-the-alliance-partys-national-convention/

Richardson has also been fiercely critical of Biden when it comes to the former Vice President’s right-wing law-and-order record. As a “lock ’em up” U.S. Senator, Biden helped shepherd in some of the worst crime bills in recent U.S. history — legislation that has adversely affected the country’s minority communities.

I know Richardson wrote an article about it earlier this summer. I’ll try to find a link to it later today and post it here when I have a little more time.

  25. The ASP actually got in touch with the American Solidarity Party (the other ASP) about this just a few days ago but then switched to Brock at the last minute. I suspect they were giving multiple parties the run-around and looking for the best deal.

  26. Richardson, is it true that you helped to form the Florida chapter of the socialist “Peace and Freedom Party,” and supported Roseanne Barr, someone who would later come out as a Trump supporter?
