  1. From the Seattle Times, Sawant faces three charges:

    * Sawant is accused of expending city resources to support a proposed Tax Amazon ballot initiative and acting out of compliance with public disclosure requirements related to those expenses. In May, she settled with the Seattle Ethics and Elections Commission for twice the amount she spent in the violation.

    * Sawant is also accused of defying COVID-19 safety orders by unlocking City Hall to hundreds of protesters during one night of Seattle’s racial justice protests in June 2020. Sawant confirms that she opened City Hall but says it did not violate any laws.

    * In addition, Sawant is accused of leading a march to Mayor Jenny Durkan’s house, though Durkan’s address is protected by a state confidentiality program because of her past work as a federal prosecutor. Sawant admits and was recorded participating in the march, but says she was not involved in organizing the event.

Some of that sounds very similar to what certain Republicans have recently been accused of, particularly the second point.

  2. Margin is down to 50.31% (246 out of 39274 ballots counted)

There are 54 ballots that were not counted.

These may be overvotes (yes/no/maybe) or undervotes (don’t know/refused to answer)

Traditionally Sawant does later with late results. Since ballots are mailed to registered voters, supporters can go collect ballots, perhaps encouraging voters, providing stamps, etc.

  3. Putting her out of work is a good start, but not enough. She must be punished so severely that other commies learn to stay away from politics and go hide in the woods, or better yet just stop being commies. Given the unfortunate realities of our weak criminal justice system which coddles and appeases the criminal elements to no end, a timely, public, and brutal execution is far too much or hope to ask for, even though that’s what commies deserve. But, even a prison term of any sort, even a short one, while woefully far short of what should really be done, would hopefully provide at least some deterence to commies who seek to rule and destroy us.

  4. All she’s done is destabilize Seattle and caused people to die. She belongs in prison.
